China Tour
In April 2007, I travelled to China to undertake a two-week recital tour with trumpeter Paul Archibald. We performed in nine cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, giving a recital in each. I gave a masterclass to the piano students of Shenzhen University, and performed a solo piano work in each of our recitals. We were looked after wonderfully well, and guided throughout by Nina, from Wu Promotion in Beijing. Nina took care of our every need and interpreted for us. She also made expert choices from the menus and I can honestly say that I ate the best food of my life. The music making was very rewarding. We had large and enthusiastic audiences in some very large venues. The whole experience was stimulating and and I hope to return to China very soon.
Maxwell Davies
In July 2005, Juliet and trumpeter Paul Archibald were invited by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies to record his Trumpet Sonata for MaxOpus, the composer's own label. The Sonata is Maxwell Davies' earliest published work, and was composed in 1955 whilst he was a student in Manchester. It was written for fellow students Elgar Howarth and John Ogden. Ogden requested a particularly difficult piano part, and infact the Sonata calls for virtuosity from both players. Paul and Juliet now perform it frequently and it never fails to impress audiences. Their recording is available from MaxOpus:

International Celebrity Trumpet Ensemble
In February 2006, Juliet joined ten of the world's great trumpeters who had gathered together for a week in London, to record and perform. The players included Hans Gansch (former Principal of the Vienna Philharmonic), Gabor Tarkovi and Florian Klingler (Principals of the Berlin and Munich Philharmonics respectively), Ryan Anthony (one of the USA's brightest talents) and the cream of London's players. Juliet performs on this recording, most notably in Alan Hovanhess' Khaldis, a concerto for piano, four trumpets and percussion, and acts as producer for the CD, which will be released later this year on the Brass Classics label. A wonderful week was rounded off in style with a spectacular trumpet concert on 24th February at the Royal College of Music.
